It started with family roots deeply planted in engineering and racing. His grandfather built and raced bikes and hydroplanes. His father carried the torch forward—racing Speedway, Grass-Track, and Karts before becoming a mechanic for Cooper Racing Cars and later McLaren in Formula 1.

In 1976, Mark’s father founded an engineering company specialising in precision sheet metal work: CNC punching, CNC laser cutting, folding, and welding. It was there, at around seven years old, that Mark picked up his first TIG welding torch—an early spark that ignited a lifelong passion for engineering.

Fast-forward to 2003, when Mark co-founded a dynamometer company focused on the design, development, and manufacture of Motorcycle/Kart dynamometers. This venture opened doors into high-end ECU control electronics and the development of advanced datalogging systems.

It was through this business that Mark’s journey with Bemsee began. In 2004, MiniTwins Series founder Mike Edwards approached him for a mobile motorcycle dyno to police the Bemsee MiniTwins Series at every race meeting. What Mark discovered wasn’t just a professional opportunity—but the Bemsee family. He’s been part of it ever since.

Mark joined the Bemsee Board in 2011 as Technical Director, earning his Senior ACU and FIM Technical Licence. Today, he not only serves on the board but also heads up the entire Bemsee Technical Team, leading with the same passion and precision that have shaped his life.

Alongside his work with Bemsee, Mark runs his own motorcycle performance engineering company, specialising in Suzuki RG500s and the design and manufacture of custom 2-stroke expansion chambers.

A lifetime shaped by engineering, racing heritage, and a community he’s proud to call home.
