I`ve been riding bikes since I was about 11, on the fields to start with, then when I was 16, I got a road bike and have had a road bike every year since then.

I got involved with Bemsee in 2003, a mate started racing an Aprilia RS250 and I spannered for him, later that year he decided to move onto a 4 stroke and I bought the bike to race the following year. I raced my rookie year in the Formula 400`s, finishing every race in last place. I then bought the bike that was to start a very long affiliation with the `Yamaha Past Masters`. A Yamaha TZR250, I raced that bike for 6 years, but can confidently say I never troubled the front runners. I am still very much involved with the YPM`s, working in the backgound to keep the 2 strokes alive, and still have the bike to this day, but as a road bike.

I started marshalling in 2007 when I wasn’t racing, and progressed to becoming a corner commander.

In 2021 I had a brief stint with the startline crew before being invited into race control. Seeing how the race meetings are run was a very big eye opener for me and I was encouraged to train to become a Clerk of the course. To me this was very much out of my comfort zone, but with help and training from the friendly colleagues in race control, I gained my `clerks` license.

I was awarded the `official of the year` in 2024 and then in September 2025, I was invited to become a Director of Bemsee. I see this a great privilege, and am looking forward to being actively involved in the running of the best motorcycle racing club in the world.

I still do a little bit of racing, although on dirt. I wobble around the track on a vintage scramble bike in the pre65 racing series.

My professional background is in engineering, and currently manufacture and install machinery for golf driving ranges.
