All meetings will have a BMCRC Friday Test day - Apart from Donington

Club Classes to run 8 from 10 rounds.

Ninjas, R600, R1000 to run 9 from 10

MRO Powerbikes, MRO 600 will run at all rounds

 

Comment:

As you’re probably aware this season the Bemsee Board took the view to try and reduce content at certain meetings to improve the value for money for riders. The consequence of this has been a tightening of finances for the club overall -we’ve also noticed a drop in rider numbers in certain classes.

We looked hard then for 2018 plans at meetings where content could be increased by another class. This is by no means everywhere but at some circuits we think that's achievable. You will all be aware of meetings that finished early this year. We’ve kept what we believe to be our Crown Jewels as far as tracks are concerned….so you will see Brands GP and Silverstone and Donington on the schedule for 2018.

 We’ve had to look carefully at the appeal of Oulton Park. We are unable to secure a Sunday race day there – there are only 6 each year and those go to major events. We’re finding many riders who choose not to support the meeting do so on the basis that they prefer not to take a Friday off work, simply to do a single days racing on the Saturday. It’s difficult as we are aware that riders that go do love the circuit. We’ve taken the decision for 2018 to drop it then and replace it effectively with Pembrey. We will intend to go back to Oulton but it may be one of those circuits that we introduce on to our schedules every couple of years or so perhaps the same with Pembrey.

We’ve also looked at considering other circuits that come up in conversation that the Board don't feel would be attractive for a range of reasons, mainly distance, so places like Anglesey, Croft, Knockhill and indeed Croix all fall into that category. The availability of dates at Thruxton and Castle Combe was also investigated - there is no availability for 2018. On balance we think the schedule for next season is a good one, it has taken MD longer than usual to negotiate and set up but he's managed to ensure that there is at least three weeks between meetings and that is very important these days when considering what riders are able to afford. He's also been able to agree with MSV to end our 2018 season at Brands which always is a great finale for the Club.

 

Work is advanced on producing the Matrix to cover what classes go to what meetings ensuring that missed circuits from this season are "rotated" for next year - so classes don't miss out on key venues. That will follow in the next few weeks.
