National Junior Cup 2013 - The Truth is Compelling

The way to go for young riders seeking cost effective and fair competition - Your chance to try the bikes before the start of the season!

The National Junior Cup moves into its second season with support again from BSB and Kawasaki. The Series will feature at two of the BSB rounds and seven at BMCRC taking in some of the best circuits in the Uk – Brands, Cadwell, Donington, Oulton and Snetterton 300 amongst them.

The new road-going 300 machine from Kawasaki has been introduced to provide a product appropriate for the new licencing legislation in the UK and Europe. The prospect of the bike being adapted for road racing that would be governed by rules limiting output to 35bhp was discussed at length at the ACU Road Race Committee meetings at the end of 2012 and approved for use by 13-18yr olds in the UK Series, unanimously. The race weight was stated as just over 140Kg (it’s 142), giving a power to weight ratio of 2.45. The Aprilia RS125 that can run alongside NJC at Bemsee rounds has the same p-w rating, around 121kg and 30 bhp giving 2.47. Both run above the rating designated for the roads in Europe and that was part of the Road Race Committee’s consideration when considering the proposals from BMCRC regarding the new 300 bike. The existing 250’s have also been refreshed to match the same characteristics, resulting in the majority of 2012 riders continuing in the Series.....

THE CLASSES MATRIX FOR 2013: icon BMCRC-MRO 2013 Class Matrix

The Club will visit the Snetterton 300 circuit on two occasions next season, our first event in March and now the June meeting will also take place on the 300.

All classes in 2013 will run with a Club format – a qualifier (MZ's - a practice) and two races on Saturday then a warm-up and two races on Sunday and for those who want the extra tracktime the extra class cost is being held at just £50 for the whole weekend. For MRO 1000 and 600 there’s the option to run in the Open Class for £50, in 2013 this will be a single, but longer race per day.

Entry fees will also be around 2012 prices and there are testdays as usual on each Friday where all riders can take advantage of our Instruction programme, the Club now has over 20 certified ACU Club Coaches, most of whom make their services available at each testday.

The Club will also be running meetings in 2013 on the full circuit at Oulton Park at the end of May, the Donington GP circuit in July and the Brands GP circuit in August.

We will be changing our Timing Service to TSL Sports Timing to provide a wider scope of service both on-line and in real-time at the track on your mobile devices. (see separate announcement).

The office is now taking Membership applications and will issue you with a unique number you can use to renew your licence online at the ACU website.
To all Bemsee riders, thanks for supporting the Club in 2012 and we look forward to seeing you again this season.

Post-Race Technical for 2013

Post-Race Technical checks (Parc Ferme) 2013

To provide a better working environment for our Technical Team volunteers and a better level of control for all, we are planning some changes to Post-Race Parc Ferme arrangements for 2013.
These are detaled on this Bulletin: icon Post Race Technical Inspection 2013
This doesn't affect all classes, but where it does, we hope riders will regognise the need to respect these arrangements.

Bike-it to support riders in the National Junior Cup

Riders in the 2013 NJC will each receive support from Bike-it.co.uk, one of the largest motorcycle parts & accessory suppliers in the UK. Special NJC prices will be offered to those in the Series against spares, tools and paddock accessories.

Mike Dommett, CEO at Bemsee said “it’s a great deal for riders in the Series, this support can represent huge potential savings for riders - new to the sport who would not ordinarily have access to such terms. This ensures that Bike-it support goes direct to the riders involved.”

TSL Timing to work with Bemsee

altThe Club is delighted to announce a three year agreement with TSL Timing for the provision of timing services at all meetings in 2013 and beyond. TSL are well known and respected for their top-level service to BSB and others, now the same facilities will be offered to Bemsee riders in the paddock and beyond.

The new TSL service will see the introduction of “live” timing services both on the web, to enable friends and family to track Bemsee races in real-time as well as on mobile devices. This will enable riders to pick up the same data and also observe real-time notices from Race Control, valuable if you can’t hear the tannoy!

This reorganisation was negotiated as the Club’s previous timing service, RS Timing has decided to disband. The Club thanks Ray and Craig Smith of RS for their huge support of Bemsee over many years.

We hope riders will welcome and take advantage of the new facilities that the service from TSL will offer.
